It took three years to rebuild it is built on a 72 super bug floor pan, yes I unpicked the strut bulkhead and welded a 1500 bulkhead in place, ball joints and disc, using the later super bug twin pin brake callipers, rear brakes are type 3 wagon, as is twin plate spring plates and torsion bars front end is seam welded and braced, fitted with adjustors (to raise) and castor wedges. Engine is 1600 t/p (standard) gear box is standard the pan is shortened 16 inches, and to fit the body it requires a 50 x 50 mm box section to be fitted down the sides. This takes out the chassis flex and makes it very good to drive. Also fitted some 3 mm plate over tunnel from chassis number to one inch past hand brake hole (cut out over h/brake hole) seen this area give a lot of problems in Manx when given hard time.

Wheels in photos are standard wheels, photos taken morning of taking the Kalita in to the Department of Transport for rego road wheels are Performance Mags, 7 x 15 with 205 50 tyres and rear are 8 x 15 with 225 50 tyres and for off road use, front standard and rear 7 x 15 steel wheels with 10R 15

The super bug track, plus t3 brake drums made the mags stick out the rear guards by 70 mm. So I cut the rear guard off, added in 70 mm and refitted and fitted the side air intakes (for engine) also fitted High level stop light and side blinkers

It has been raining here for a few days, but stopped now took the Kalita out for a run along some mountain bush tracks very rough and muddy, the 4wd before me dug it up badly and leave deep ruts one spot drove for 100 yards in first on opp lock looking out the side to see..
