Cam and
crank. Note 2100 cc crank in 1900 cc case requires clearancing of the case roof. A type 1
cams drops straight in.
Two WBX case halves. This view shows the before and after
versions of the WBX case halves. The water jacket has been machined down to 12 mm above
the barrel seating surface act as strengthening gussets to the crankcase.
The water pump and associated jackets are now replaced with air
cooled heads and barrels.
Three
cases. WBX, WBX modified and Type 1.
Two
barrels, to achieve the correct deck height, the barrel on the left has been machined to
locate the barrel deeper into the case and match the larger 100 mm opening in the case.
Oil filter,
the WBX case has the oil filter flange cast directly into the case. A Certrab thermostatic
sandwich block is used to run an external oil cooler
Factory 5
litre sump.
The WBX
case comes with a pulley oil seal.
Note the
3 mm offset head studs, necessary because of the different stud spacing between the Type 1
head and the WBX case
Case
halves, note the different sump volumes. No need for a deep sump.
Amazingly
the Type 1 geneartor / alternator stand bolts onto to the WBX case where the WBX oil
breather was.
