These are our coming club events for the next few months.
All Club members and their families are welcome to attend any event; the details are below. Non-members and visitors are also welcome to come along to anything. You don't have to pre-book for anything unless advised; generally, just turn up. Bring your Volkswagen with you!

August:
Monday 10th:- Committee Meeting at Canley Heights RSL Club, 26 Humphries Rd, Wakeley, 7:30pm.
Sunday 16th: Shannons Sydney Classic 2026 at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek. Organised by the CMC, it's the largest classic car show in Australia. Club displays, double decker bus rides, trade stands, historic race cars, Concours, and a parade lap of the track for all show entrants. Over 2,000 classic cars! Club Veedub will again have a Volkswagen display, with 20 booked spaces available. You must book with Danny Hayes or John Ladomatos at the monthly meeting to secure your reserved entry ticket and parking space for the day. Cars should arrive before 8:00am. Please only take one if you are SURE of attending - please don't take one, then fail to turn up on the day.
Monday 17th– CLUB VW MONTHLY MEETING at Canley Heights RSL Club, 26 Humphries Rd, Wakeley. Come for an evening of VW fun, no boring stuff but lots of socialising, latest events and raffle prizes. Take a free magazine. Get your Historic Rego sorted! Central location, plenty of parking. Enjoy the club’s bistro and sports bar too. Lots of fun, all welcome. 7:30pm start.
September:
Tuesday 1st:- Canberra General Meeting at the Spanish Australian Club, 5 Narupai St Narrabundah, from 7:30pm.
Saturday 5th:- Club Veedub Drive-in Movie Night, at Blacktown Drive-In (Cricketers Arms Rd). Bring your VW along for a special showing of the 2006 Pixar movie ‘Cars.’ Meet up at the M4 Ampol Foodary (east-bound) at 4:30pm, heading to the Drive-In at 4:50pm. Or just meet us at the drive-in. Movie starts 6:30pm. Tickets $25 per car, book on-line at www.eventcinemas.com.au/cinema/drive-in-blacktown#date=2026-09-05 Enjoy the retro snack bar! No window speakers, just tune your car radio to the local FM station.
Friday 11th:- Magazine Cut-off Date for articles, letters and For-Sales.

Sunday 20th:- Canberra German Auto Day 2026, which will be held at Patrick White Lawns, National Library (Parkes Place West, Parkes) from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Gold coin entry, cars should arrive from 7:00am. Plenty to see and do for the whole family - displays of iconic German marques Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen. A friendly Show ‘n’ Shine judged competition with trophies on the line. Food & Coffee: Family-friendly stalls are also on site. Sunday 20th:- Lugarno Lions Spring Festival Classic Car Show at Gannons Park, Pindari Rd & Isaac Street, Peakhurst. $20 to show your car. Entry gates open 7:30am-12pm. No exit until 3pm. This event raises funds which are used to help a wide range of worthwhile local, national and international charitable causes. Plenty of food and drink stalls, kids activities.

Saturday 26th–Sunday 27th:- VW Warwick Drags 2026. Two days of all Volkswagen 1/8-mile drag race action! Friday night dyno session. Saturday street parade and car display, scrutineering and practice; evening tappet cover racing and entertainment. Sunday drag racing all day. Round Robin heats, Top VW Shootout for natural and turbo cars. Great food and drink. Air- and water-cooled VWs welcome, stock or hot-rodded. Pre-entry and payment is essential, before Friday 18th September; no entries on the day. Go to www.vwma.net.au/warwick for all bookings and info.
Sunday 27th:- Club VW invitation run to The Intershed Car and Truck Museum, Oakville. Meet up at Bunnings Marsden Park, Richmond Rd and Hollinsworth Rd, from 7am for a 7:20am departure. Then we cruise to to Museum, at 631 Old Pitt Town Rd, Oakville. 15 km, about 25 min. $10 entry to the museum ($5 kids), cafe coffee / breakfast available on site. Sunday 25th:- Sydney German Autofest 2026 at Gough Whitlam Park, Earlwood, 9am-3pm, organised by the Mercedes-Benz Club of NSW. Come join us for the display day for all German makes - Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and Volkswagen. Bring your VW along (old or new), and join the VW display. Food and drink stalls on site, trade displays, trophies for the best cars. Show cars must arrive between 7:30am and 8:30am. Pre-book ticketing info TBA.
Sunday 25th:- Arms of Australia Open Day and Car Show at the historic 1840 Arms of Australia Inn Museum, Great Western Hwy & Gardenia Ave, Emu Plains. Bring your classic VW, FREE ENTRY. There will be food & drinks available, Sausage, Bacon and Egg sandwiches, cold drinks, tea and coffee, Devonshire teas. Craft stalls, wood turners, Historical stalls, some light entertainment. Sunday 29th:- Boris' Picnic Day 2026. Yes it's on again! Come along to Sans Souci Park, just before Captain Cook Bridge at Sans Souci. From 8:00 am - try to get there as early as possible (no reserved parking, first-in first-parked). Free entry. Enjoy Boris' BBQ, show off your shiny VW (old or new) but no swapper stuff please.
